Always nice to keep up with standard vulnerability issues. People who read this should pay attention. Fixes are possible no matter what OS or personal machine you run. Thanks, Nethic.

I know nothing about GRUB, man. Although, I know you can change your boot loader to something 100% better. Search google for something that might suit your needs a bit better. GRUB has been known to totally suck. You'll find that during the google search also. Plus, I'm sure you'll find other people...

I agree to a certain point. I'm not all that politicaly, but, I undestand how things like this works. I beleive Bush will be re-elected. Not due to crap, but due to Americans voting for him. *shrugs*

I would recommend setting up and running an SSHd process. That will allow you to connect to it using a console.

For more information, "man sshd".

Good luck.

I'm not big on UnrealIRCd. I happen to not like it much. But, they all work basically the same when it comes to configuration. About WinE, once it's installed it will run a majority of Win Apps. But, it won't run anything that needs Window's base system like some *.dlls or *.sys files. Hope that hel...

I'm not sure if Linux uses mount the same way BSD does, but you should run the "man mount" command to find out what you have to do. I would recommend finding out which partition you need to mount on the drive. EG: /dev/hda, /dev/hdb, etc... But, each of those drives may have a partition you need to ...

I don't know much about Mandrake Linux. I've heard very bad things though. However, I wouldn't trust anything through hear/say. Anyway, I would assume you're attempting to do this as user root. If not, you'd better "su -" or log into root's account. Otherwise, it could be bad packages or a glitch in...

That probably won't work. I'm sure you could use the files throughout the network to install from the ISO you've downloaded, but that would be a major pain. Why can't you burn it to a disk and just boot it up via BIOS? Do you not have a CDROM or CD burner? Let us know the circumstances and we'll be ...

If, for some reason, you can't get your URL to work, just email me or give me a link and I'll gladly host it here. It won't bog down the server or anything.

As long as the URL to the avatar is correct, it should display it fine. Otherwise, we do have limits on the size an avatar is allowed to be which is 200x200 (rather large). Try not to get any that are TOO big... \o/

Well, depending on the IRCd, usually they already have a pre-made configuration file for you to use. All you do is adjust the information inside. Look in your ircd/etc directory for a file named something like "ircd.conf.sample" or "ircd.conf-dist", etc... It's bound to be around. However, if you ca...

I would take stealth's advice. Check if you're logged in as root. You MUST logged in as root to install anything.

Otherwise, I would say that Linux Mandrake is 100% useless. Update your system to something worth using. :D (Just a matter of opinion)
